“The US Office of Foreign Assets Control (“OFAC”) placed sanctions on four Russian banks, VEB Bank, VTB Bank, Sherbank, PSB Bank and their subsidiaries. While this means we no longer support contractor and employee payments to these banks, we’ve been working hard to support Deel customers in the region.
Here’s a summary of what we’re doing to ensure business continuity:
- We have contacted the small number of employees and contractors that have been affected by these changes to let them know how they can add another payment method.
- We’ve enabled free Deel Cards and free Deel Advances for Ukrainian contractors, so they can access their Deel earnings up to 30 days early, without having to send money back to their bank account.
- We’re closely monitoring the situation and are ready to act quickly to any further changes. If certain payment methods are blocked, we will offer a parallel solution to pay employees and contractors.
Payments to all other banks located in Russia, Ukraine and Belarus are currently supported as normal. We also conduct a Know Your Customer (“KYC”) check and sanction screening check on all employees and contractors.”
